This peach banana smoothie is one of the quickest ways to get a healthy breakfast or snack on the table. It's naturally sweet, perfectly creamy and tastes like summer in a glass. With Greek yogurt and hemp seeds, it has enough protein and healthy fats that it actually keeps you satisfied.

About this Peach Banana Smoothie
This peach banana smoothie is a great recipe for using all those fresh peaches showing up at the grocery store. There is something about this seasonal fruit that just screams summer, lazy days, and sunshine.
And when I see piles of peaches at the grocery store, I know it's time to get this smoothie in the blender. Not only do I love that it contains nearly 20 grams of protein and my kids are obsessed with this one, I love that it is...
- Sweetened with just fruit - This gem is sweetened with just peaches and frozen banana. There is no need to add extra sweetener, even the natural kind (why so many people add sweeteners to their smoothies is beyond me)!
- Packed with hempseeds - I love adding in super seeds, like hempseeds, wherever I can. It's such an easy way to add in nutrients. These little seeds increase the nutrition, like adding protein, heathy fats, and numerous vitamins and minerals. I love using these in my healthy raspberry overnight oats.
- Customizable - This smoothie is flavor packed and satisfying as is, but there are lots of options for adding in more protein, veggies, and nutrients.

Ingredient Notes
- Banana - I highly recommend using a frozen banana. The frozen banana helps with the creamy texture and keeps the smoothie nice and cold. I always keep peeled and cut bananas in the freezer so they are ready for smoothies.
- Peaches - I typically use fresh, but you can use fresh or frozen peaches. Nectarines can also be used if you can't find peaches (they are essentially the same fruit, nectarines just have a smooth flesh).
- Greek Yogurt - Any plain/unsweetened Greek yogurt can be used (or regular if you don't have Greek). For dairy-free, I recommend almond milk Greek yogurt, but any non-dairy plain/unsweetened yogurt can be used.
- Hemp Seeds - Used to add some healthy fats and protein. I wouldn't skip these only because they add so many nutrients to this smoothie (and they are tasteless), but if you don't have them, you can omit them. You can also use chia seeds instead.
- Milk - Either cow's milk or non-dairy milk can be used. With all my smoothies, I prefer almond milk and Malk is my favorite!
Sara's clean food tips: Since peaches are on the Environmental Working Group's (EWG) dirty dozen list, I recommend organic peaches.
For cow's milk, I recommend organic whole milk. If using dairy-free milk, use unsweetened plain milk. And look for milk that contains just the source of the milk (i.e. almonds), water, and maybe salt. Avoid gums and additives if you can.
Smoothie Boosters & Add-ins
This peach banana smoothie is easy and delicious as is, but if you're looking for more protein, want to sneak in some veggies, or just double down on the nutrients, try some of these!
- Add in some veggies - Throw in a handful of frozen cauliflower - it's such an easy way to sneak in some veggies and you can't even taste it! Or, add a handful of spinach, or try my kale fruit smoothie for a green smoothie.
- Rolled oats - Creates a heartier more filling smoothie with whole grains plus additional fiber and protein.
- For added protein - Add a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder. I like Just Ingredients Vanilla as it's super clean and not chalky. I love this in my healthy banana protein muffins, too.
- Almond butter - A spoonful of almond butter will add protein and healthy fats.
Step-by-Step Directions
- Step 1: Place the milk in the blender first. Then add the remaining ingredients.
- Step 2: Blend on high until ingredients the smoothie is nice and creamy.
- Step 3: Pour into a glass, sip and enjoy!
Sara's Notes for the Best Smoothie
- Use frozen bananas - I always keep peeled and cut bananas in my freezer for smoothies. Frozen bananas provide a creamy texture and help keep the smoothie nice and cold.
- Use ripe peaches - The riper the peaches, the more natural sweetness they will provide. If you have extra peaches, try my naturally sweetened peach crisp.
- Layer ingredients correctly in the blender - Did you know the way in which you add your ingredients to the blender matters? Start with liquid (milk), followed by soft ingredients (peaches & yogurt), then frozen/solid ingredients (bananas & hemp seeds). This ensures the blade can move freely, resulting in a creamier smoothie.
- Adjust ingredients for the right texture - If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add a splash or two of milk and if it's too thin, add more frozen banana. If you'd like it a little frothier/more slushy, add in a handful of ice cubes.
- Make popsicles - When my girls were younger I would always make popsicles with my smoothie recipes. We love these popsicle molds and use them for these strawberry watermelon popsicles, too.

Making Ahead
Smoothies are really best enjoyed fresh. But, if you're looking to prep ahead, there are a few options.
Option 1 (recommended): Portion out the bananas and peaches and and freeze in a freezer-safe container. Then, when you're ready, just add the frozen fruit, milk, yogurt, and hemp seeds to the blender and blend.
Option 2: You can make the smoothie and store in the fridge for up to 12 hours. Give it a good stir before drinking, but just know the ingredients will separate and even stirring won't result in the same texture as a fresh smoothie.
Again, these are just some options, but really, I recommend enjoying this peach banana smoothie fresh from the blender.

- ½ cup milk of choice (dairy free if needed)
